Begin with the main flower. Position it according to the finished bouquet image. Hold one end of the pipe cleaner with your right hand, then use your left hand to wrap it downward around the stem twice, as shown. If necessary, gently bend the stem by hand to adjust the direction of the flower head.
Tip: Leave a short tail and secure it underneath the wraps to prevent the pipe cleaner from coming loose during assembly.
Place the secondary flower in the desired position. Wrap the pipe cleaner twice around the stems at the same binding point to secure the flowers together. Keep a firm grip on the stems with your right hand while wrapping.
Arrange the filler flowers according to the finished bouquet image. Fill the gaps on one side first, hold the stems firmly, and then add flowers to the other side. If there are several filler flowers, add and secure them in smaller groups.
Position the leaves according to the finished bouquet image, then wrap and secure them to the stems. Arrange the foliage to give the bouquet more dimension and a lively, natural look.
If the pipe cleaner becomes too short while wrapping, take a new one and hook one end around the remaining end of the current pipe cleaner. Twist them together twice to create a secure connection, then continue wrapping.
After all the individual stems have been secured, gently shake the bouquet to check that the flowers and leaves do not move. If anything feels loose, add another pipe cleaner and continue wrapping until everything is firmly secured.
Make final adjustments to the position and shape of each flower and leaf. Use the finished bouquet image as a guide when arranging the flower heads. Once you are satisfied with the shape, trim the stems to your preferred length. Your bouquet is now complete.
